Some news

Here's a spot to catch up on how David is going, and random notes from Peter, Debbie and family.

24/01/07 02:27:22: Hi this is Peter (David's daddy). Hope you've enjoyed the website for photos, videos and news. It was initially set up for Lyn (Debbie's mum) who is currently on holiday. I'm in and out of the hospital most days so it would be nice to have a photo of you with David for his website. Debbie enjoys all your comments and it gives her somethings to do in her room. Thanks for all your support and for checking up on the latest news :) David is doing really well and Debbie is too. She told me she might be coming home possibly Thursday or Friday depending on how she's feeling. Obviously I'm busy doing a lot of other work for now, but once I've got some spare time I'll update Emma and Madeline's websites also - plenty of content to add there. Please check back often for more news and feel free to post as many comments as you want :)
25/01/07 02:52:35: It looks like this page is becoming news from Peter! I've added another video of David with his big sister Emma, having his first bath with Deb, and some nice shots of him awake. There's also some more photos for Day 3 for those that came to see Deb and David in the hospital (sorry to those that missed out on getting a photo when I wasn't there!). It looks like Deb might be coming home Thursday morning now (YAH!). Thanks again for all your support and comments, we appreciate them now and would love to keep hearing from you all on David's website and might need to call you for help once in a while :). Enjoy the rest of your week. Cya. (PS. hmmm it looks like the timestamps on these news updates are a little revealing, I should probably prioritize my sleep over updating this site!)
25/01/07 10:25:58: Hello everyone, Deb here. David and I will be leaving hospital this morning. We wanted to say thank you again for all of your love, support and encouragement. A big special thank you to Cathy and Tammy for looking after the girls so Pete could spend some time with me (and for Stephen for being on call towards the end!). Thanks also to everyone who came out of their way to come and see us in hospital - especially to Julie and Reg 'cause I know that it was difficult for you both and we really appreciate it. Thanks to all the staff at the hospital who have helped look after David and a big thanks to Dr Sue Kennedy-Andrews and Dr Anupam Parenge who safely delivered my little man into the world and of course Denyse our lovely midwife who helped on the day and throughout the pregnancy.
25/01/07 05:31:48: Yah, we all got home today and have settled in, David's been sleeping like a good boy. We'll hopefully try and post some more photos of us leaving the hospital and David at home so please check back and we'd love for you to continue leaving your comments. We'd also like to a collage of Debbie leaving the hospital as we've got the same footage and photos of all three children leaving the hospital from the same place in the same blanket etc.
28/01/07 10:11:39: Well Nana came back from her holiday today so it was nice for David to meet his to see Nana, Gramps and Uncle Sam. We've also moved all the family and friends photos into their own area. That will be it for now with photos and videos for a while while Peter gets back to work but we hope to continue adding more over the coming months and particularly doing something with David's sister's sites as well :) Thanks again for all your comments and support over the week.
29/01/07 01:16:54: Here's a little secret for anyone still checking the website... We've filled out all the Government, Centrelink, Medicare and any other registrations forms we needed to and for the official Birth Certificate Debbie decided she wanted to slip another name in. We have been thinking for a while to call him Craig Craig or in this case David Peter Craig Craig to make it look like a typo and just a little inside joke that we weren't going to tell anyone about but we decided we might regret that later on so we didn't go with that one. The name is fairly generic as well so it was good to throw something a little different. So once the forms all go through, David's full name will officially be: David Peter Gabriel Craig. Gabriel is Hebrew and means "God is my strength", "Power of God", "Man of God", or "God's able-bodied one".
08/02/07 11:40:28: Another project has just been launched for David's website and you can check out the progress at everyday.davidpcraig.com. The idea is to take a photo of David every day for as long as possible and eventually when there are enough pictures, it can be made into an animation of his face aging into a boy, into an adult if it lasts that long.
24/02/07 10:42:45: Hi everyone. Today, Saturday 24 February, David smiled for the first time :-) Yeah he's finally doing something. I was in the shops waiting at the service deli and he just looked up at me and gave me a huge grinner. Very exciting. It was a shame that Peter wasn't there to see it as when I told him he tried to convince me that David was doing a BM. He is being a very good baby, and his sisters are treating him very well. He only gets the occasional bob on the head. David is growing so fast as well. He has gained over a kilo since he was born and grown 6 and 1/2cms. For those who haven't seen him in a while, you are more than welcome to drop in and visit (just give us a ring to let us know you are coming). That's all, catch ya later, Debbie
